Our Mission
The mission of Lambs of Lanka is to support orphanages in Sri Lanka, especially Tamil-speaking orphanages from Trincomalee to Jaffna, by providing meaningful educational services and opportunities. Our assistance includes helping orphanages access computers with educational and beneficial software, providing eBooks and digital learning resources, and connecting children with Tamil-speaking tutors from around the world. We also aim to support older children and young adults by offering guidance in computer skills, job skills, interview preparation, communication skills, and career readiness. Through these services, Lambs of Lanka hopes to empower children with the knowledge, confidence, and practical skills they need for a brighter future.
Providing Technology
We aim to provide computers, educational software, and digital resources that help children access online tutoring and develop important learning skills.
Publicizing Information
We aim to share information about the needs of orphanages so that volunteers around the world can offer useful services, skills, and educational support. To protect the privacy and safety of the children and orphanages, we will not publish students’ real names, photographs, exact locations, or orphanage names without permission. Instead, we will use pseudonyms and general descriptions when sharing stories or requests for support.
Education Connection
We aim to connect Tamil-speaking tutors with children in Sri Lankan orphanages to support their learning in school subjects, languages, computer skills, and personal development.
Volunteer Support
Volunteers will receive the deep satisfaction of knowing they have made a real difference in a child’s life, watching their confidence grow and their eyes light up as they realise they are not alone. Each volunteer will also receive a certificate of service in recognition of their time, kindness, and contribution.
All images are based on real photographs taken at orphanages; however, the children’s facial features and identifying details have been altered to protect their privacy and identities.
